A Personal Appeal
ACN strongly believes that our initiatives are most effective when they include the involvement of communities that have a good understanding of the challenges being faced. To facilitate this understanding, ACN partners with in-country organizations to help support or initiate programs that are successful and sustainable.
With your support, ACN is not only able to continue our assistance to children in Romania with HIV/AIDS, but also can begin to explore other areas of need as well. There are children in Romania who, after a lifetime in foster care, residential centers, and orphanages, need to learn the skills that will allow them to become self-reliant. In Guatemala, orphaned children need roof repair in order to prevent attacks by vampire bats at night. In Taiwan, children abandoned by parents running from the law or serving prison terms need a place to live and go to school. In Moldova, older abandoned and orphaned children need to be presented with opportunities that would allow them to become self-sufficient, so that they do not fall prey to the sex and labor slave trades. In Tanzania, albino children need protection against those who would hunt them down for their limbs.
The list of children in need of your help continues to grow. ACN is resolved to do what it can, where it can, to assist these children in need. Your support makes this a possibility.
